Car Meeting Rally

More than 500 custom made cars from Nederland hit Slovenian roads as DT Slovenia hosts a third stop of Carbage run 2016 summer edition.

Carbage run is a traditional rally of custom made cars from Nederland, which usually lasts for 5 days and visits different European countries. The main rule of the rally is that the price of the cars that compete must not exceed 500 €. This year’s route of the rally went through France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. On 6th of July, the Hippodrome in tiny village near Ljubljana, became the venue of Carbage run 2016. On every stop, contestants can except a special task. The special task on the way from Bolzano to Ljubljana was, to bring a 10 kg ice cube as well preserved as possible. As drivers mostly drove on the local roads and stopped for a picnic or a swim in a lake, the time frame of the arrivals was from 14.00 to 1.00 in the morning next day.

To get to the Slovenian venue, one had to drive through the Nature park of Ljubljana marshes only to reach the small village of Vrbjlene, which is located 14km from Ljubljana. The venue has been carefully picked by DT Staff as it is perfect location for car meetings and has all the infrastructure which is required for such an event. Guests could park their cars on the fresh cut grass and set up their tents next to their cars. As the temperature reached almost 30°C guests could get refreshment in a cold stream Iška that flows by the hippodrome. Local community which was doing the catering, prepared an amazing dish that caught much attention, a roasted ox, roasted pork, sausages and other traditional food. Guests could also enjoy at the tunes of the Metal Band Mist, Folk music trio Aufbix and DJ.

In collaboration with local community, DT Slovenia has prepared one of the most memorable car meeting events in Slovenia as the event consisted of the beautiful setting, the most innovative cars, good music and traditional food.
